Born
in Tsu City, Mie Prefecture Graduated Mie Nishi Public High School
and graduated Tsuda College majoring in International Relations.
At the College(the founder, Umeko Tsuda, the first Japanese lady
who went to the States to study English),as an approach to study
Japanese People and their mentality, studied about the comparative
cultures and psychology, especially having great interest to study
Japanese folktales with Jungian psychology. Also obtained the
license for English Instructor.
After graduating Tsuda
College, returned to Tsu City and established an English Seminar
House for teaching English to high school students studying for
college entrance examinations and businessmen as well. Was also
involved in volunteer lessons in English for elementary students.
Through a recommendation of a friend, entered Miss Japan Contest
and won the Grand Prix as the 19th Miss Japan in 1986. This has
extended the career. As Miss Japan, had a meeting with Mrs. Aquino,
the president of the Philippines, invited by Miss Korea Contest
as the guest, as well as participating in many international events.
Later, worked as a news caster for NHK and during this time, her
strong interest in folktales, and Japanese Studies has lead to
translations, writings and studies to further spread the network.

caster on NHK BS on the program "Round Up Japan." Attended
the reception party at Tohgoseiji Memorial Art Museum, as
well as attended the awarding ceremonies as MC, held at major
cities in Japan for the Best Citizen Award. Flew to Canada
for cover reports. |

Published
the book "Chiru Chiru no Seishun", a translation from Maurice
Maeterlinck's series of books "Blue Bird" ( Ref: Yamaguchi
Children's Cultural Laboratory, Miss Japan Secretariat.) |

Made
cover reports in various areas of Europe for Chubu Electric
Power Company as one of the area opinion leaders. Among the
past Grand Prix winners of Miss Japan, awarded the Wada Beauty
Award, which acknowledges the excellent activities and performances. |

Made
a cover report at five East European Countries (Sponsored
by Hakuhodo and Foreign Affairs East European Division). Publication
of "Chiru Chiru no Seishun" by Asunaroshobo. Started color
illustrations and held an art exhibition, which lead to pursuit
of the art works. |

for the 1991 Super Models of Japan. Traveled to Australia
on several occasions until 1993 as the event coordinator related
to Miss Japan. |

, which is well-known for the inn of writers such as Mr. Yoji
Yamada, Mr. Yo Takeyama, Mr. Shizuka Ijuin and others and
for Yagyuno Shou an elaborate Japanese Inn in Shuzenji. |

Translation
into English for the book "Dictionary of Words with Figures"
by Kodansha. Partnership transcription of "The Historical
Stories of Men and Women) by Kodansha. As an artist, started
the series illustrations for "Dentsuho". Started to hold seminars
and lectures at various vocational schools about "The Basis
of Making a Story from Folktales( With Jungian psychology)"
,"Classics of Picture Books ",and "the Making of Picture Books",
which was one of the themes long studied since college studies.
